Step by Step, Bite by Bite: How a Charity Walk and Hog Roast Haworth Raised the Bar for Fundraising!
When it comes to raising money for charity, the possibilities are endless. Black tie galas, bake sales, silent auctions – the list goes on. But one of the most beloved fundraising events has to be the charity walk. Every year, hundreds, if not thousands, of charity walks take place across the UK, bringing people from all walks of life (we couldn’t resist!) together for a cause that’s close to their hearts.
Recently, a local team of charity fundraisers organised an epic hike to raise money and awareness for a fantastic charity that works with cancer patients and their families. While the hike itself was challenging, it was all for an incredible cause and there was a special reward waiting for those who made it to the finish line.
The event wrapped up with a fabulous lodge party, where participants were treated to a series of fundraising activities, including raffles with great prizes and donation pots for anyone feeling extra generous. The cherry on top? A tasty lunch, provided by none other than Hog Roast Haworth.
Just imagine: After hours of walking, the smell of sizzling, smoky pork fills the air. The sound of crackling skin, the subtle sweetness of applesauce, and the irresistible aroma of free-range pig roasting to perfection. That’s what greeted the walkers at the end of their trek. And let us tell you, the food didn’t disappoint.
Our Hog Roast Haworth caterers wasted no time carving the freshly roasted meat right in front of the guests, which led to a round of applause. The hungry hikers formed an orderly queue, eager for their well-earned feast. Before long, everyone was happily munching on gluten-free rolls piled high with juicy, tender pulled pork, crispy crackling, sage and onion stuffing, and a generous dollop of applesauce. For the veggies and vegans in the crowd, we had a delicious BBQ-pulled jackfruit roll that was just as hearty and tasty.
It wasn’t just about the food; it was about making memories while supporting an important cause. The walkers were overjoyed with the grub on offer, and Hog Roast Haworth couldn’t have been prouder to be a part of such an incredible event.
